Playing leads and major roles in quite a few favorites of mine, Hayashibara Megumi's voice is certainly among the easily-recognizable to my ears. Her singing voice on so many themes, closing credit songs, and other tunes on soundtrack albums definitely helps the voice recognition factor as well (and yes, her version of Evangelion's closing credit song is my favorite).

Probably best known here in the US for roles such as Ayanami Rei (Neon Genesis Evangelion), Nuku Nuku (All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku), and Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop), she's worked on children shows such as Hello Kitty (as Kitty herself) as well.
